Sip and Scan, Branding Alive in AR //

A student-led collaboration transforming café branding into immersive Halloween and Christmas experiences.

2025 // This project presents a seasonal branding concept that can be applied to cafes, shops, and restaurants to bring brands to life through interactive experiences. The campaign was conceived and designed by Professor Zoya Laskowski in her Arts 77 Branding and Identity Systems class at the University of the Pacific in California, United States. Students in the class collaborated with her to create the content for the seasonal ads.

The Halloween campaign, launched on October 8, featured animated Augmented Reality (AR) motion ads. By scanning Groundstack Coffee’s packaging, customers unlocked a new interactive ad every few hours, creating a fun and engaging experience that built excitement leading up to Halloween. The Christmas campaign, launched on December 3, continued the AR experience with festive-themed ads, offering a unique, immersive way for customers to engage with the brand during the holiday season.

This project demonstrates how strategic branding, design thinking, and AR technology can transform a real-world client project into an interactive, memorable experience, while showcasing students’ creative execution in branding, digital design, and experiential marketing.
